a frosty, foggy fall morning

Hi friends,

I hope you've been enjoying your fall.

We just returned from a week in New York

{moving our daughter and family there},

and I woke up to this beautiful,

cold, frosty morning . . .

I was surprised to see our Maple tree already losing its leaves

an hour later . . . less frost, more fog

P.S. Has anyone had a garter snake inside the house?

Last night there was a live baby garter snake {about 9" long}

in the family room. I was so glad hubs was home.

Now I'm wondering . . . how did it get in the house.

Christmas Historical Homes . . . in Boise

While celebrating Christmas in Boise with our family, I just had to take a few pics of some homes decorated for Christmas in the historic district. At night, many of them were so pretty with their lights lit up.

Don't you just love wreaths?! I do! From now through Christmas, I'll be sharing our home, decorating ideas and inspiration for Christmas, and I look forward to visiting yours.

While hustling and bustling and getting ready for Christmas, take time to relax and enjoy each day and moment with your family. That is what's really important. Each day is a new memory.

New England Day 4 . . . St. Petersborough & Marlow, New Hampshire

Welcome to Day 4 of our week in New England.

After leaving Hancock, we stopped at St. Petersborough, another beautiful, quaint town with an unbelievable view from the road, that just made us want to drive into town.

We hit a few of the quaint shops and then headed off to Marlow.

Marlow mainly consisted of a meeting hall, a statue, the Odd Fellows Hall and a church; but what a gorgeous photo opportunity across the lake. It was worth going there just to capture these pics.

Almost in Vermont . . .

The next New England post will be Vermont! Pretty fall foliage, covered bridges and barns.

Roses in October . . . ? ? ?

I really thought I was finished with our garden posts, but . . .

it was so beautiful and sunny again today . . . I had to get outside
and enjoy it . . .

I took a stroll through the gardens and the rose garden, and this is what I saw . . .

I had to pick a bouquet and bring them in the house. I couldn't let their beauty go to waste in the rain; and the fragrance is fabulous! I can't believe we can have a rose bouquet for Halloween.

Enjoy our last rose garden post. We'll be moving indoors for future posts, unless there is something unusual . . . like a white bunny or something else of interest to share. And, of course, there are a few more days of New England to post ~ New Hampshire, Connecticut and Vermont.
