Christmas Home Tour

If you need some Christmas inspiration,
check out all of the beautiful homes
and decorations at the wonderful
Christmas blog parties.

This year, we're keeping it simple.
A wreath and fresh evergreens to welcome guests . . .

A small tree in the foyer (a favorite).
I love the look of it in the toile bucket.

Next to the tree is an old family Bible
we inherited from a friend.
I have opened it to the true story
of Christmas from the book of Luke.

Some vintage vignettes in the family room . . .

The mantel . . . paper, bottle brush trees,
Putz houses, and a few vintage reindeer

In the living room is our
small collection of Nutcrackers . . .

And an aluminum Christmas tree
(not really my style, but had it up and
decorated in an hour, and we get to
reminisce in Christmases past with
the whirring of a color wheel and
enjoy all of our vintage ornaments).

It's okay to keep it simple . . .
no hustle and bustle,
more time with family and friends.
We'll be spending Christmas with our daughter.

Wishing you joy and God's blessings
to you and your families
this Christmas!

a vintage Christmas tree

Are you finished with your
Christmas decorating?

Today I'm sharing the little Christmas
tree we have in the foyer.

It is one of my favorites.
I love the look of it in the toile bucket.

This tree has a past with special memories.
We purchased it for our daughters to use in college;
it has flown back and forth from home, and
the box still carries airline baggage tags.
It was a dorm tree and still has some
of the pink college tinsel.

I love over-decorating this one
with lots of vintage ornaments.

It's hard to believe Christmas is here.
It seems to have crept up on me this year.
I must get out and finish the Christmas shopping.
Hope you're enjoying your
Christmas season so far!
Merry Christmas!

Today I'm sharing the inside of our home for Christmas. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas season. Enjoy your stay.

our entryway . . .

now placed in a red toile bucket and covered with vintage shiny brights
. . . the theme ~ you just can't have too many shiny brights, and size doesn't matter :)

the living room
A collection of nutcrackers; love the ones made in Germany,
and a vintage ceramic tree from my husband's mother.
the dining room entrance garland is decorated with our collection
of White House historical ornaments

the dining room
 inside the large gold frame {a craigslist find ~ minus the broken mirror}
is a collage of our daughters' wedding pics

the kitchen
a mini bottle brush tree with vintage style cooking utensils is the
table centerpiece in the nook
a little vignette showcasing the wonderful sheet music giveaway I won from
Arbor House Lane; thank you, Alaina!

and some of our daughters' grade school artwork on display each year

Thanks so much for visiting us this Christmas.
Wishing you a blessed and wonderful season with your families.
May you know the real reason we celebrate and what all the Christmas carols are singing about, the birth of Jesus.

What a surpising joy blogging is.
I appreciate every visit and comment, and I look forward to visiting and chatting with you.

Merry Christmas!
