crosswalk.com daily devotional by Jim Burns March 14, 2011
Whenever I'm on a break from a Kay Arthur's Bible study, I start my day
with a cup of coffee and a devotional from crosswalk.com
[God has asked me to put Him first everyday . . . . .
not my blog, not my business, my home, my hobbies, laundry . . . . .]
not my blog, not my business, my home, my hobbies, laundry . . . . .]
If you have a busy day . . . cooking, cleaning, school, diapers, soccer games, work,
errands, appointments, . . . take a few minutes and start your day with
the One who created the heavens and the earth and all that is within them,
who causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust,
a rewarder of those who seek Him, the One who sustains you,
knows your coming and going, saves your every tear in a bottle, and
knows the number of hairs on your head. He is waiting for you.

Wishing you joy and love today.

I love this post...God has been dealing with me too about giving Him the firstfruits of my time. It's all too easy to think, oh I just need to quickly check my email, etc.
ReplyDeleteI have never taught or attended a Kay Arthur study but have really been wanting to take the training so I can lead one at our church.
Help a friend in need....That's what you have been doing and I thank you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you and thanks for sharing this today.
BEAUTIFUL! SO TRUE! HE IS WORTHY OF OUR FIRSTS!
ReplyDeleteHow true, how true ~ Have a great Saturday... I start my day with my Lord every morning ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love this. I'm convicted, too, because it's morning, I'm in a hotel, and I just came over to the computer first. I brought my good old Bible. Why wasn't IT first today?
ReplyDeleteI like that list, too.
Good morning Julie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the gentle reminder...a very nice post :)
Hugs,

I have my grandfathers Bible...I love reading it and the little notes he made it thru the years...it reminds me that what I mark in my bible today may help not only me but someone else tomorrow
ReplyDeleteI believe we all need to stop and take a big breath and count blessings first to put things in prospective. We can get carried away with worries and life. Just be still and you will hear his voice.

A lovely post Julie! A very nice "To Do" list. xox
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful post, Julie.
ReplyDeleteI need to go to bed earlier so that I can get up earlier. I miss my early morning devotional. It got harder to do once I went back to work full time... {I have to leave for school at 7:00}. So, I pray at school before homeroom begins... and when my classroom is empty late in the day.
Your lovely pictures of an early morning devotional are giving me the motivation to listen for God's morning call ~ before I leave for work!
*blessings for a lovely Sunday*

Hi! This was so beautiful and just what I needed to hear today. :-) One of the reasons we started our Inspiration Friday party was to provide a place where we can share not only our homes but also our hearts! Thank you Julie for linking this post up to the party this week!
