Vintage Winter White & Tarnished Silver

Thank you for all of the decorating inspirations!

When Debra at Common Ground said she redecorates her sideboard every month, I thought about my mantel . . . . . it has been the same for . . . . years    . . . . with the exception of holidays . . .

So, today I 'm sharing our newly decorated mantel for winter.

It has an 1880's print of The Lord's Prayer and Ten Commandments we purchased in New England, white milk glass  {available at my etsy shop}, enamelware, and a button covered ball (from Arbor House Lane), some vintage silver pieces and mercury glass ornaments. I also added a few natural elements ~ cedar cones tucked in some milk glass, mini pine cones, a ball covered with hydrangea blooms,  and a bouquet of green camellia leaves, incense cedar and rose hips, and a touch of red with a berry wreath.

I'm loving the natural elements with the white and silver.
What's on your winter mantel?

Hope you're having a Happy New Year!

  1. Your mantel looks so pretty, I especially love the print... I'm afraid that I still have my Christmas decoration on my mantel, I was late getting everything up so decided I would leave it up for a little while longer and enjoy it!
    Blessings~~ Daphne

  2. very pretty, I use the milk glass often and put candles inside it looks so pretty glowing white in the winter.

  3. It looks fabulous! Ironically, I just cleaned mine off from Christmas and thought the exact same thing that you did about mine needing a change.

I'm still in the staring at it stage. Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. Happy New Year, Julie! How funny that we both decided to keep out our mercury glass and pine cones for the winter... I'm sure we're not the only ones though... hehe!
    Happy WW!

Thank YOU for the inspiration. I love, love, love your mantel.
Thank you for your prayers and for checking in on Raina. She is doing quite well under the circumstances and keeping mom very busy.....but I don't mind. :) As I told her, she may be 18, but she'll always be my little girl.
    Have a great day!

  16. I LOVE milk glass and I think your mantel is so pretty. Mine is empty right now while I decide what to do with it but now I'm thinking milk glass. Or glass in general as I don't have enough of any one kind yet to fill the mantel with it.
Oh, and by the way, Happy Belated Birthday!! Hope it was a good one!
