Vintage Flea Markets . . .

Saturday we hit a couple big flea markets in our area.

A Vintage Gathering at Beyond the Garden Gate ~ I didn't take any pics here but found a few things to purchase. The prices were very reasonable. I purchased a vintage push cart on wheels and a small black table. I'm planning to make a white fabric liner for the cart with bows. I have seen some, and they are so pretty. I will show the finished product on a future post.

And the Barn House ~ It was crazy busy, some people came on a tour bus from Seattle (3 hours away), people parking 1/2 mile away and walking. Didn't buy anything; no bargains here. Everything was expensive. It was hard to take pics because there were so many people, but here are a few. All the vendors had beautiful displays, and we enjoyed looking at their treasures.

Check out the white fringed umbrellas. They are gorgeous.

Lots of white linens and pillows . . .
and white furniture
Shabby Chic is in!

 White signs and white flowers . . .

Saw this beautiful white bouquet in a silver ice bucket and had to duplicate it when I got home. It is all white and gorgeous ~ white yarrow and Queen Anne's lace. The yarrow is actually pink and fades to white.

My yarrow isn't completely all white yet, but I love it! It looks very elegant.

Thanks for visiting. Hope you enjoyed our vintage white flea markets.

Mid-summer walk through the garden . . .

Shasta Daisy

Purple Butterfly Bush
{But we haven't seen very many butterflies this year}

Pink/Purple bell flowers
I love the way the bells just hang from the branches.

Yellow tree rose

Pretty little Violets

Day Lily
{This is the only orange in the garden ~ I just don't care for orange flowers, but the plants were free to us.}
Our gardens are white, purple, yellow and pinks ~ I love the way the colors look together, with different blooms from early spring thru fall.
Pink True Geranium
Easy to grow and spreads everywhere.

Golden Yellow Coreopsis

Sweet William
Purple Liatris
Don't you just love these fuzzy spikes?
Tall yellow spike flower
{Don't know what this is called, but it looks pretty on the picket fence and in bouquets.}
If you know the name of it, let me know.

Pink Cone Flower
{Just love these flowers}

And, of course, . . . my favorites . . .  ROSES . . .

Our rose plants are still struggling after all the rains; I hope to post more roses in the next garden post.

Thanks for visiting our garden.
Have a great week!

Wedding bliss . . .

 I am happy to be linking this to
Angelic Accents 2nd annual Wedding Blog Party.
Check out more beautiful wedding posts here.

Who doesn't love a wedding?

In honor of our 32nd wedding anniversary yesterday,
I'm sharing some family wedding pics . . .

 My husband's grandparent's wedding day;
we don't know what year,
but it is one of my favorite wedding pics.
It is framed and displayed in our living room.

No pics of my parents' wedding day; they eloped,
but they have been married for 52 years.

Our youngest daughter's wedding day,

Our oldest daughter's wedding day,

and . . .

Our wedding day, July 28, 1978
[white tuxes really were in style :)]

I take thee as my wedded husband,
to have and to hold from this day forward,
for better or for worse,
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health,
to love and to cherish,
'til death do us part.

Thanks for visiting our weddings.
We are still best friends
and thankful for our 32 years together.

A home BBQ . . . meet some of our family

Ok, so I haven't really shared any family pics, so here are the first.
We had a backyard BBQ Saturday with our daughter (Whitney), son-in-law (Reed), granddaughter (Tayvee) and their friends (Wade and Elizabeth).
It was a beautiful sunny day and included badminton and croquet.
We loved spending time with them!

Tayvee played in the pool . . .

Reed and Whitney got their feet wet . . .

and played badminton . . .

 Tayvee cheered!
and got sleepy . . .

The kids played badminton . . .

Grandma and Grandpa got to play with Tayvee! (Yes, I'm the grandma)

It was a fun opportunity to use our new (to us) vintage table set with chair slipcovers and matching napkins.

Elizabeth brought some beautiful sunflowers from her garden and Whitney brought her delicious homemade blueberry pie. We barbequed steaks and salmon, had salads, baked beans, homemade ice cream, and . . .
fruit pizza . . .
RECIPE: FRUIT PIZZA
Crust:      3/4 Cup butter or margarine, softened
                1-1/2 Cups flour
                3 Tbsp. sugar
Mix butter with flour, add sugar; mix until smooth; pat into 9x13 pan or 12" pizza pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Next Layer: 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
                    1 Cup Cool Whip
                    1/3 Cup sugar
                    1 tsp. vanilla
Mix together and spread on cooled crust.

Top Fruit Layer: We like sliced kiwi, strawberries and whole blueberries, but you can use whatever fruit you want

Enjoy!

Thanks for visiting our family BBQ! We look forward to having another family BBQ when our other daughter (Chelsey) and son-in-law (Dean) are in town! {They all have sweet blogs and were my inspiration for starting mine.}
Hope you're enjoying your summer with your family!

Patio Chair Slipcovers . . .

This week I finished the slipcovers for our patio chairs. They are made from Pottery Barn napkins and a striped Waverly fabric.  I love the roses and the way they look on the chairs.

Thanks for visiting. If you would like information on how to make these, email me and I would be happy to email you some directions.
