Repurposed Rusty Fencing

Found this bundle of rusty garden fencing . . .
curbside while visiting New York . . .

Carried it on the subway {lol} and
packed it in a suitcase to get it home.

Inspired by its green color,
I decided to make a tree
which can be used inside or out . . .

. . . I took it to Junk Fest to display ornaments.

Hope you're having a great start to the New Year!

I will be sharing a few back posts
from Christmas crafting.

I've currently taken on the role
of redesigning a thrift store and adding a coffee shop,
so I will be somewhat MIA from blogging
and won't have much time to blog visit
over the next few months,
but I hope you'll keep in touch.
I will catch up when I have some free time.

I may do a few posts on the
thrift store project as it progresses.
It's a great opportunity, and all proceeds
benefit a local family shelter.

  1. I love this idea! I want to make something like it to display some collectible ornaments. I think sometimes special ornaments get "lost" on a Christmas tree.

  2. This makes a great "tree." Surely I have some rusty old fencing tucked away! Please don't stop blogging! Just a note of inspiration per month keeps you in the loop and everyone happy!

  3. How creative, Julie. Enjoy your new adventures.

    Have a beautiful week ~

  4. OHMY! Who'd have thunk it! You are just so creative ... I love your tree! Good luck with your current project and Happy New Year!

  5. Adorable! Amazing how plain old rusty metal comes alive with the sparkle of your pretty ornaments. Following you back!

  6. Super cute! I love that you carried it on the subway! New follower! - L

  7. Very cool, right up my alley!

  8. Now that is Very Creative & Oh So Clever....
    Have a wonderful weekend,

  9. That is just so creative! I really like that. I laughed at the thought of you carrying it on the subway. That sounds exactly like something I would do.

And my family would be clear on the other side of the car pretending that they didn't know me.

  10. What a great idea. I have tons of this in my garage, thanks so much for linking up to VIF!

  11. What a trash to treasure story!! It's beautiful Julie!!
