Daisies . . .

Hope you're all enjoying your summer!
We just returned from a great visit
with our kids and granddaughter.

We came home to a yard full of daisies . . .
wild daisies and shasta daisies.

Just had to pick some bouquets and
put them in our newly purchased pitchers,
which will soon be for sale in my etsy shop.

Happy White Wednesday!

Have a great week!

Doing some recycling . . .

Hi Friends,
Hope you're enjoying your summer!

I didn't have time to do any posts before the
antique show, but here are a few things I made to add
some handmade things to our booth.

Some Victorian lady and sheet music bottle cap magnets
(thank you, Graphics Fairy!)

Some photo or business card holders
using old wood spools

and salt shakers with lavender
framed some vintage sheet music songs
that I thought would be cute in a nursery
or child's room . . .

. . . repurposed some old
silver plate knives as letter openers.
I think they're so pretty tied with some vintage lace.

It was a busy few weeks getting ready for the show,
and this week we're off to visit our kids
and sweet granddaughter,
but I do look forward to catching up
on your wonderful blogs and posts.
What have you been working on?

Expo Antique Show

We've had a very busy week.
This weekend we were one of over 1,200 vendors
at the Palmer Wirfs Antique Show
at the Portland Expo.
It was our first time there as a vendor.
We have friends who have been doing the show for years
and have been encouraging us to sell at the show.
We had so much fun!
We sold lots . . .
met some great people . . .
received an invitation to be a vendor at Ruffles & Rust
and another local flea market.

Here are a few pics The Captain took of our booth.
We were so busy with customers,
I never really had time to set it up the way I wanted,
and we sold lots of things
before we could get them in their places.
I decided to add pops of pink throughout the booth
and had made some tissue pom pom flowers
(tutorial here) to hang from the tent.
By the end of the last day . . .
I only had 3 of them hung.

trailer trash turned to cash

The Captain did a great job setting up a lot of the
vignettes as I was busy talking with customers

I also had the opportunity to be interviewed
by The Oregonian newspaper (article here
who took some photos of our space
and included this one
on the The Oregonian website here.

We had so much fun.
We plan to be a vendor again next year.
Thanks to all who stopped and shopped at our booth.
I enjoyed meeting you all.

~ Julie

P.S. I will be adding new items to my etsy shop today,
and to celebrate 200 sales and thank you for shopping,
you can now receive 20% off for 2 days,
ends @ midnight July 13.
THANK YOU!

Lavender . . .

Today I picked some lavender!
I was excited to see it had bloomed
so I could take some to the
antique show next week.
I hope it dries enough to use.
There is so much you can do with
dried lavender.

Just add a bunch anywhere.
It's so pretty.

Tie a few sprigs to anything for a special touch.

(a repurposed letter opener ~ now available in my etsy shop)

Fill a teacup with the buds
and enjoy a fresh scent anywhere.

I put some in these vintage salt shakers,
now photo holders . . . just shake for
a scent of fresh lavender
~ now available in my etsy shop.

Did you know?

~ lavender contains antibiotic, antiseptic, disinfectant,
antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and calming properties

~ the scent of lavender increases brain waves
associated with relaxation

~ it has been helpful in treating insomnia, headaches,
scrapes and wounds, and other health issues

Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a great week!
