This week I picked some of our PeeGee hydrangeas. They are so beautiful; I thought I would share them with you. The blooms are green to white when they first bloom and turn to a pretty dusty pink. They will still look beautiful even after drying. PeeGees keep their color and make beautiful vintage look bouquets. [You can click photos to view larger.]
Enjoying the end of summer garden and getting ready to do our first flea market as a vendor at the Heisen House Vineyard Harvest Festival September 25. And we're going to New England next week! Over the next week I'll be sharing some of our vintage finds and projects I'm working on that will be going to the sale, as well as our trip to New England.
If you are interested in drying hydrangeas, when to pick is the most important factor in getting the best dried blooms. Pick them in late summer to early fall when the blooms are mature and starting to dry on the plant. Cut and put in a vase with or without water. If picked too early, they will wilt, but if not, they will dry as picked :).
Thanks for stopping by. I love and read every comment and look forward to reading your blogs. Hope you're having a great week and had a chance to meet Cindy from Design Love.

Dear Julie, These are wonderful. How I should love to have the house filled with vases of these lovely white blooms complete with just a touch of pink shadow for added interest, and sparkle.

Hi Julie, thank you for sharing these lovely photographs. I was thinking of putting a few hydrangeas around the house next week, as I am having a few friends over for lunch. I can't think of a more welcoming sight. Good luck on the 25th and enjoy your trip to New England.
