Map paper Easter eggs

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're having a lovely March!

Easter is early this year . . .

I made a few paper Easter eggs
from vintage maps
to hang in a window display at the store.

Very easy to make . . .

~ Cut out an egg shape pattern and cut
from map or any other paper.
You will need 16-18 per egg.

~ Stack together and sew a seam down
the middle on your sewing machine.

~ Leave string as long as you want at the
                                 top for hanging.

~ Tie a knot in the strings at the top and
bottom of the egg to keep from unraveling.

~ Fold and crease on seam lines.

~ Open creases and fan open.

Ta Da . . .

So pretty to hang anywhere!

CELEBRATE EASTER! HE IS RISEN!

sheet music paper wedding dresses

Busy creating . . .

 pretty things from paper

a special order for a bridal shower

sheet music wedding gowns

I loved creating these . . .

designing individual little dresses,

each one unique

adding vintage lace, paper doily trims, buttons and flowers

making veils, trains and simple bouquets.

We've been to several weddings this summer,
sharing the love, beauty and joy,
of young couples
full of life and love,
just beginning their lives together.

Congrats to all those newlyweds and
to those celebrating many years of marriage.

Remember the joys of your wedding day

joining your life to another,

keep celebrating your life and love,

being thankful for the love and time you share.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Love is the greatest gift of all.

Just creating . . .

Hi Friends, hope your week is going well!
I have been in a creative mode.
Here are some things I made last week.

Since I had some extra canvas drop cloth
from making the chair slipcover
I made a flag banner.
I love the warm white look.

I used some old vintage alphabet cards
and vintage lace.
What to put on it?
"DREAM" kept coming to mind.
We all love to dream, don't we?

I saw this idea somewhere and
thought it was so unique . . .
a vintage spool garland.

I just strung some vintage spools on a piece of
tattered fabric rose ribbon.
I think it's fun and unexpected.

and several new French inspired gift tags.

All of these items are available in my etsy shop.

Thanks for stopping by today.
What have you been creating?
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Vintage lace, roses and burlap

Hope you're all having a great week!

While I was getting everything ready to photo
for my Vintage Rose Giveaway,
I thought it would be nice
to include a gift bag.

Remember the burlap bags I showed you here.
I added a panel cut from some rose fabric
I've had for a few years,
and added vintage lace and trim.
The vintage crochet trims were probably
made by The Captain's grandmother.
They had been cut from old garments
and packed away in my bag of vintage lace.

I added some lace to the top
and tied the top with some of the torn
roses fabric ribbon that I sell in my etsy shop.

And,
it's a dual purpose bag!

It can also be used as a pillow case.
Just add a 10"x16" pillow form and voila. :)

This one will go to the winner
of my giveaway.
If you haven't signed up yet,
just click here and leave a comment.
It's open until June 27.

Love and roses,

a new French chair

We picked up this chair
for free on craigslist.
It had a break in the back scroll piece
and needed some love.

The Captain
glued and clamped the back piece,
and I made a simple seat slipcover
from a canvas drop cloth.

We started out with this . . .
then this . . .
then this . . .
and now it looks like this . . .

I love the way it turned out.

Now . . .
do I keep it or sell it?
It does look nice in our living room . . .
kinda adds a French flair to the traditional.

Have a great day!

Patio Chair Slipcovers . . .

This week I finished the slipcovers for our patio chairs. They are made from Pottery Barn napkins and a striped Waverly fabric.  I love the roses and the way they look on the chairs.

Thanks for visiting. If you would like information on how to make these, email me and I would be happy to email you some directions.
