Shabby Chic Cuckoo Clock

I've been wanting to alter a cuckoo clock . . .

 . . . paint it white

use real pine (spruce) cones

and give it a dusting of snow with
white and silver German glass glitter

before
after

We used a non-working cuckoo clock we found at an antique store.

Let me know what you think.
I'm selling this one in my etsy shop.

Hope you all have a lovely week!
~ Julie

  5. Hi Julie - So nice! I always thought the dark wood of cuckoo clocks made them sort of dismal but your re-do has sure put that idea to rest!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and your kind comment. I'm (slowly!) finding my way.

I'm looking forward to knowing you better! Enjoy a creative, happy week... Karen

I LOVE this! My husband has an old cockoo clock and I would never let him hang it but if he will let me shabby it up, I'm going to try this. Thanks for sharing,

  13. How beautiful! I collect clocks, and I have a few cuckoo clocks among them. Although I'll probably never paint them, I have to admit I'm tempted now. I'd love for you to pay me a visit. Have a wonderful day.
