Meet Someone New Monday . . . Amy Kinser

Today I would like to introduce you to my new friend,

AMY KINSER

I'm not sure how or when we met,
but when she was talking about opening an etsy shop,
I offered to help, and we've been talking ever since.
She lives in Tennessee [isn't it wonderful how, through blogging,
you can become friends with someone on the other side of the country?].
Her full time job is homeschooling her children.
Her blog motto: DEVOTED to God, Family, Home
She shares insights into her home, family and life,
and encourages all of us in blogland through her blog All Things Home.

Amy just opened her etsy shop last week, and she has a
wonderful selection of treasures in her shop, AmysAllThingsHome.

Here are just a few of my favorites . . .

If you haven't met Amy, please go check out her beautiful blog and her new shop.

Happy Monday!
Have a great week!
I'm glad you stopped by for a visit.

A glimpse of spring . . .

Wishing you joy and hope today.

Spring will be here soon.
(God changes the times and the seasons ~ Daniel 2:21)

Today, we found these in the garden . . .

Have a wonderful week!
Are any of your flowers blooming?

~ Julie

P.S. Has anyone had a garter snake inside the house?
Last night there was a live baby garter snake {about 9" long}
in the family room. I was so glad hubs was home.
Now I'm wondering . . . how did it get in the house.

Vintage Tablescape Inspiration

Look at this gorgeous outdoor table
in the current issue of Victoria Magazine. . .
Isn't it beautiful?
{you can click pics to view larger}

What a beautiful setting

Don't you just love all that shabby, pink, rose loveliness?

It has inspired me to to set up a similar look with a spring table . . . in our yard,
with items from my shop . . . pretty vintage linens, an old bird cage,
a silver candelabra, some vintage dishes . . .  fresh flowers . . . . . an old picnic basket,
some French books . . . . . and how about some of these?

and maybe some of this . . .

When the sun is out and the lawn can be mowed, I look forward to
sharing an outdoor spring tablescape setting with you.

Hope you have a great week!
Thank you for all of your kind and wonderful comments.
I look forward to visiting you.

~ Julie

Inspiration . . . . . A Worthy List

A list of simple pleasures to bring joy to you or someone else today.

Seek out a forgotten friend.

Write a love letter.

Share a treasure.

Encourage someone with a kind word.

Keep a promise.

Give to a needy cause.

Forgive an enemy.

Listen.

Apologize if you were wrong.

Try to understand.

Read your Bible.

Pray for your family.

Examine your demands on others.

Appreciate a friend.

Be kind, be gentle.

Laugh a little.

Laugh a little more.

Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth.

Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. —Colossians 3:17

from Crossroads newsletter of the First Christian Church; June 11, 1978
crosswalk.com daily devotional by Jim Burns March 14, 2011

Whenever I'm on a break from a Kay Arthur's Bible study, I start my day
with a cup of coffee and a devotional from crosswalk.com
[God has asked me to put Him first everyday . . . . .
not my blog, not my business,  my home, my hobbies,  laundry . . . . .]
If you have a busy day . . . cooking, cleaning, school, diapers, soccer games, work,
errands, appointments, . . . take a few minutes and start your day with
the One who created the heavens and the earth and all that is within them,
who causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust,
a rewarder of those who seek Him, the One who sustains you,
knows your coming and going, saves your every tear in a bottle, and
knows the number of hairs on your head. He is waiting for you.

Wishing you joy and love today.

French Inspiration

Last week I was inspired by Polly at Counting Your Blessings
and decided to make some gift tags to give to my etsy customers.
I always try to wrap everything pretty but don't always include a gift.
Now I'm going to keep some of these on hand.
Most are quick and easy to make.

 I love my fleur-de-lis stamp

And, we all love the images from The Graphics Fairy! Thank you, Karen!

 French soap labels

and French perfume labels

While I had my French stamps out,  I decided to stamp some of these.
I haven't made any muslin ribbon since Christmas.

I like the muslin rolled up on old wood clothes pins.

And, bringing a little spring inside . . .
making some shabby chic flowers with tissue, burlap, old patterns,
French book pages, and vintage lace.

strung on string to make a pretty garland.

I'm sharing this week at the French Voila party at the French Cupboard.
I'm looking forward to seeing the other great French crafts and decor.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you're having a great week!

MEET SOMEONE NEW MONDAY ~ Little Reader Vintage

I'm excited to let you know
my youngest daughter, Whitney,
just opened a
vintage baby clothing shop on etsy,

Daughter Whitney and Sweet Granddaughter Tayvee

Now she is able to share her love of vintage shopping
and vintage clothing with others.
Her goal is for people to be able to buy vintage clothing
for their babies and toddlers without breaking the bank.
Whitney has also incorporated her name (Reeder)
and her love of reading into her shop [Little Reader Vintage]
and donates a percentage of all sales
to the Boise Public Library.
So when you buy from her shop,
you're also supporting reading and literature.

She carries clothing in size newborn through 4T,
shoes and some unique baby accessories.
She is selective on the items and styles she purchases.
Here's a sampling of a few items currently listed.

If you like any of these items or this style of vintage baby wear,
please check out her shop and let her know her mom sent you :).

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I hope your week is wonderful!
