Who doesn't love a wedding?

In honor of our 32nd wedding anniversary yesterday,
I'm sharing some family wedding pics . . .

My husband's grandparent's wedding day;
we don't know what year,
but it is one of my favorite wedding pics.
It is framed and displayed in our living room.

No pics of my parents' wedding day; they eloped,
but they have been married for 52 years.

A home BBQ . . . meet some of our family

Ok, so I haven't really shared any family pics, so here are the first.
We had a backyard BBQ Saturday with our daughter (Whitney), son-in-law (Reed), granddaughter (Tayvee) and their friends (Wade and Elizabeth).
It was a beautiful sunny day and included badminton and croquet.
We loved spending time with them!

Tayvee played in the pool . . .

Reed and Whitney got their feet wet . . .

and got sleepy . . .

Grandma and Grandpa got to play with Tayvee! (Yes, I'm the grandma)

It was a fun opportunity to use our new (to us) vintage table set with chair slipcovers and matching napkins.

Elizabeth brought some beautiful sunflowers from her garden and Whitney brought her delicious homemade blueberry pie. We barbequed steaks and salmon, had salads, baked beans, homemade ice cream, and . . .

fruit pizza . . .

RECIPE: FRUIT PIZZA

Crust: 3/4 Cup butter or margarine, softened

1-1/2 Cups flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
Mix butter with flour, add sugar; mix until smooth; pat into 9x13 pan or 12" pizza pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Next Layer: 3 oz. cream cheese, softened

                    1 Cup Cool Whip
                    1/3 Cup sugar
                    1 tsp. vanilla
Mix together and spread on cooled crust.

Top Fruit Layer: We like sliced kiwi, strawberries and whole blueberries, but you can use whatever fruit you want

Patio Chair Slipcovers . . .

This week I finished the slipcovers for our patio chairs. They are made from Pottery Barn napkins and a striped Waverly fabric. I love the roses and the way they look on the chairs.

The Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise, Idaho . . .

We had the blessing of being able to attend our good friends' son's wedding in Boise, Idaho. The reception was held at a beautiful botanical garden, located just outside the walls of what used to be a penitentiary (interesting place to have a garden). The penitentiary is surrounded by beautiful (is that okay to use to describe a prison?) rock walls. It was built in 1870. The garden was so lovely and I was able to take lots of photos and thought you might enjoy a little tour. It was only 95 degrees that day.

The turret still has the sign "WARNING Guard Dog on Duty"

Tea Time in the Gazebo . . .

Welcome to tea in the gazebo.
We just got the gazebo ready for summer; our summer is late here. We have had so much rain in the month of June. We enjoy having our morning coffee in the gazebo, and how about an afternoon tea party? Come and join us . . .

Here's the before and after

I bought 2 of the pillows and made new covers for the cushions and other pillows with Waverly coordinating fabrics. The pillows and covers are reversible, with different fabrics for a different look.

On the coffee table, an inherited vintage table runner with a pretty embroidered basket on each end; also has matching napkins which are on the backs of the chairs and loveseat, china teacups, Franciscan Desert Rose teapot, and antique milk bottle holder . . .

A great find in Idaho while antique shopping ~ the cutest shabby chic milk bottle holder that holds 6 half pint milk bottles ~ it came without the milk bottles; but, unbelievably we were able to find all 6 while shopping in Idaho, finding 5 at one estate sale. It is one of my favorite finds!
